Operating System Change Request
Linux to Windows or Windows to Linux
Notes on the move process:
- Cost: $15/domain. We will credit you
for the current plan you are on and then start a new plan using
the same billing period and play type. Example: Linux 12-month
Bronze changes to Windows 12-month Bronze, with credit given for unused time on Linux plan.
- There will minimal downtime, typically 1 hour or so.
The IP address of the website will change, but we set the domain
settings (called 'time to live') to point to the new IP address in
the shortest amount of time possible. There is a chance that
some users on the Internet may not be able to see your site for a
period longer than 1 hour, but for most users it will be less than
an hour.
- The change will be done within 2-4 days of when the change is
requested unless specified below. The change occurs some
time during the day between 9am and 9pm on weekdays or 12-4:30pm on
weekends but is not a scheduled change.
- All email and email passwords will be copied
over. No mail will be lost.
- Mailing lists and databases are not copied over.
You must manually set these back up.
- Linux and Windows platforms are similar however some features
are specific to each. Note some of the platform specific

Please note: if you are moving from our older system
(which uses /menu to access the Control Panel, the following are not supported
yet on the new system)

Moving 3 or more domains?
- We will combine these domains in a single Webmaster Account
which has a single Control Panel to control all of your
domains. To view details of the Webmaster accounts, see
this page.
- Unique IP addresses will be converted to shared IP addresses.
Shared IPs work the same as unique IP addresses. A unique IP
is only needed for anonymous FTP or SSL certificates.
Complete this form to initiate the move.
The move will begin any time within 1 business day of when this form
is submitted. You will receive further instructions from
NetFronts after we have moved your site and created your account on
the new system.
